Recycled Plastic Water Bottles Fishing Game
I created this unique fishing game in 2018. I wanted to create something using recycled plastic water bottles. I searched Pintrest and it showed me how to make fish from them. After this, I decided to create several fish and then I came up with the idea of creating a game for kids with these recycled fish. I painted and decorated them with googly eyes and then glued magnets to the tops. I then decided to use wooden dowels, I already had, for fishing rods. I glued magnets to one end and then attached a ribbon to the other end. A box became a fake water source. I painted it with blue waves inside and out. A sign was created from an old Vivint security sign and cardboard.
I used this game in 2018 at National Night Out in Staunton Park,Washington Park at Inner City Day,Melrose Park for an event sponsored by Price Memorial Church. I also used it ar the May Day sponsored by Melrose Rugby Neighborhood Forum in 2019 in Kennedy(now McCadden Park).I would have fruit snacks and roll ups and other snacks for kids to win when they caught a fish. The kids were always amazed at this game and had fun with it. Some adults did also.
I had not used this game since 2018 so in 2023 I presented it again at National Night Out at McCadden Park. I added blinking LED colored lights to the inside of the box and around the sign. People were so amazed by it because the fish had been water bottles and were so colorful.
